“You can’t break Al-Anon.” This was reassuring when I took on a service role beyond the group level. Even more reassuring is the knowledge that we don’t have to reinvent the wheel or repeat mistakes made in the past. We have the experience, strength, and hope of generations to guide us. Of course, we’ll face new challenges and we’ll make new mistakes. But we can’t break Al-Anon. The program is not governed by our trusted servants – and our sole authority is a loving God as he may express himself in our group conscience. What a gift! What a relief!
A warm Welcome to our new Delegates – Welcome to the great world of Delegates and a sincere Merci for accepting to serve our wonderful fellowship. It was an excellent idea to get involved at this level of service. You will grow and learn a lot through this experience. You will, at time, wonder about a few things, ask yourself some questions, and marvel at the miracles that happen during the Conference. There will be some difficult and demanding moments, but some interesting and enriching moments as well. So remember that after the rain there is always a rainbow. Have… Read more »
Stay as safe as you possibly can; stay w/the positive people & winners in Al-Anon. Keep your serenity, say the prayer over and over to your Higher Power.
Thank you, thank you to all who will attend WSC 2024. When I first stepped into the WSC meeting room years ago, my first feeling was: Wow, what a Room Full of Love. Wishing that for each of you too.
Keep an open mind and open ears! Listen for your Higher Power through others’ words.
The words that helped me, I pass on to you. “Take time for yourself. Go outside, put your toes in the sand and if you dare jump on in.” On a personal note, it’s okay to have a meltdown, tell someone, take care of yourself in a way best for you…. Then come back to your seat with a heart smile for a program that loves you just as you are. Big Hug
To All the Delegates,
Al-Anon is so important in my life. The gifts I have received from the Al-Anon Family are too numerous to recount. I have never had the privilege of attending a World Conference. As you attend and deal with Al-Anon business and meet extended Al-Anon Family I wish for you connection to your Higher Power, Peace and Serenity and clarity of thought. Most of all enjoyment, a word I learned to explore and learned to do in Al-Anon.
Thank you for your service.
The worries and insecurities before you ventured on the bus, train, or plane to go to Conference are over. You are where you are needed. You with your ideas, feelings and knowledge. Selected by your peers at home. Be the best version of yourself you can be. My first Conference, I waited to be invited to participate and I had a lousy Conference. I vowed to change that, and my following Conferences I invited others to join me and went from “Me to We”. It was a beautiful place to practise our astounding program. I was the voice for those… Read more »
