“How Important Is It?” that all Conference members read and consider all documents that are posted prior to Conference, so that everyone is prepared to discuss and decide on all Conference matters affecting Al‑Anon as a whole?
It’s very important!
The Al‑Anon World Service Conference Charter defines in broad terms the responsibility of the Conference to act on behalf of Al‑Anon as a whole. The Conference, as a service body, is the guardian of Al‑Anon’s world services and its Twelve Traditions. Conference, the event, is the annual business meeting of Al‑Anon, held to ensure worldwide service and unity.
Conference members have been given the gift of responsibility. According to Concept Two, “The Al‑Anon Family Groups have delegated complete authority to their Conference and its service arms,” thus empowering Conference members to speak and act for them. All Conference members are the trusted servants of worldwide Al‑Anon.
