In October 2025, 28 Delegates and two World Service Office (WSO) guests attended the in-person European Zonal Meeting (EZM) in Naples, Italy. The theme was “Service, Unity, and Recovery.” Seventeen European structures came together to share their voices, experiences, and hope to foster unity and service across their communities. The WSO was invited to attend and participate, share updates on recent activities, and be available to answer questions.

Italy served as the host country for this 11th EZM, and their Committee shared love and enthusiasm from the moment attendees arrived. The event provided an opportunity to renew existing relationships and welcome new members. Returning members were excited—and sometimes a bit challenged—by the active participation of the many younger trusted servants present. Their fresh perspectives generated both hope and moments of tension as they offered creative solutions to our common problems. By applying Al-Anon principles, talking to each other, and seeking mutual understanding, the meeting maintained and expanded unity.

The agenda topics were timely and provided an opportunity for sharing experience, strength, and hope to support the greater good. After time for structure and Delegate introductions, topics included:

  • Conflict Resolution
  • Alateen: Pilots & Online
  • Common Welfare
  • Alateen: Supporting the Transition to Al-Anon
  • Unity in Action and Service in Electronic Groups
  • Encouraging Sponsorship
  • Collaboration with Alcoholics Anonymous

As the meeting concluded, the presenters on Common Welfare shared a quote that encapsulated the sense of unity and belonging felt by attendees: “Al‑Anon is a we program made up of hundreds of thousands of I’s.” Attendees were grateful to be part of this circle of hope and service leadership.
